With today’s hectic schedules and endless distractions, sometimes you just need to escape in order to relax, reconnect, and enjoy the little luxuries of life. Tucked away in the rolling hills of Brooksville, The Tilted Teacup Tea Room & Boutique makes the perfect haven- and pot of tea - to get away from it all.

A visit to The Tilted Teacup is like stepping into another place and time. Approaching the 1924 house, you’re greeted by rocking chairs and shabby chic furniture on the front porch. Formerly a part of the original Rogers Christmas House Village, the tea room shares the nostalgic landmark with recently-reopened Rogers Christmas House and The Wired Bird, a home decor and gift shop.

The Tilted Teacup also offers shopping to tea-goers with a charming boutique in the foyer filled with unique jewelry made from China and silver spoons, vintage hats and scarves, custom-made florals and wreaths, and delicious jams. They also sell 30-plus teas that the tea room carries including their five most popular flavors: Nutcracker, Brooksville Blueberry, Cherry Rose Julep, Long Island Strawberry, and Buckingham Palace.

Beyond the boutique is the tea room, which breaks into several rooms: gold, burgundy, and blue, each decorated with antique furniture, lacey linens, and plenty of paintings and knick-knacks. Each room feels cozy and private like you’re taking tea at a home in the country.

The Tilted Teacup’s menu is delicious and versatile for any occasion or appetite. Their High Tea and Afternoon Tea are what you typically expect at a tea room offering an assortment of delectable tea-time goodies including fresh-baked scones, quiche, sandwiches, and desserts on a three-tier server with an unlimited pot of tea. These formal teas are perfect for any celebration or get-together, or just a special treat.

They also have a lunch menu with signature chicken salads, entrees, quiche, and salad; their curry chicken salad is delightfully flavorful and a local favorite. If you’re not feeling that peckish or are just short of time, tea with scones or dessert will definitely hit the spot.

Whether you come to The Tilted Teacup for a High Tea or a small bite, you will enjoy spending time sipping tea with friends at this quaint, relaxed tea room.

The Tilted Teacup is an American-style tea room, but owners John and Aimee Gans have made it uniquely theirs through careful attention to detail. From their friendly service to their beautifully decorated rooms to their fresh, made-to-order tea fare, you can easily see the Gans’ passion for tea rooms and bringing a pleasant experience to all.

The Gans first opened The Tilted Teacup in September 2012 at 200 W Fort Dade. A tea room may not seem like a booming business, especially in wake of The Great Recession, but The Tilted Teacup was such a hit in Brooksville that the Gans needed to expand and moved to their current location nearly two years later.

Serving tea for five years now, The Tilted Teacup invites you to celebrate with them at their annual Anniversary Sunday Brunch on October 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The special brunch menu includes fresh fruit, a scone, soup, unlimited hot or iced tea, and one of four delicious entrees: smoked salmon croissant, a classic crepe, crustless vegetable quiche, or gluten-free quiche. The brunch requires a reservation as well as a $10 deposit and pre-order, so call the tea room today at (352) 593-4111 to save your table!

The Tilted Teacup hosts other annual events throughout the year, including fun themed teas like their Gatsby Murder Mystery Dinner Tea and Downton Abbey Christmas Tea. They also reservation-only, and you'll definitely want to save your spot for these special events!

On Saturday, October 14th, bring your appetite as well as your spyglass to the Gatsby Murder Mystery Dinner Tea, where you and 14 other guests are prime suspects of a murder at the Grand Gatsby Hotel! Have a fun-filled evening dressing up in 1920’s attire and solving a murder while enjoying High Tea.

For fans of the popular BBC show, the Tilted Teacup hosts their yearly Downton Abbey Christmas Tea this December on 2nd, 9th, and 16th. Be a part of English royalty for an evening while enjoying High Tea as well as music, entertainment, photo ops, and carriage rides. You can also look the part by dressing up in Edwardian clothing.
