Spring has finally sprung, and the hot summer sun is starting to show its face. There's no better way to escape the heat than with some of Gainesville's best ice cream! Cool off and check out our list of Gainesville's most famous, local ice creameries.

Sweet Dreams

If you're looking for a Gainesville staple, look no further than Sweet Dreams. Sweet Dreams has been serving homemade ice cream, sorbet, and Italian ice since 2004. They also offer dairy \-free and sugar-free flavors as well as homemade waffle cones. One of the best parts about Sweet Dreams is that they're open until 10 p.m. during the week and 11 p.m. on weekends, which makes it the perfect place to pop-in after a date or a late night movie.

Karma Cream

I can't believe it's not real... ice cream! Karma Cream's delicious treats are organic, vegan, and dairy-free. Karma Cream also offers a build-your-own-sundae, floats, frozen blends, and ice cream sandwich options with plenty of toppings.

This bright and bubbly cafe also offers regular menu items, which pair lovely with a scoop of ice cream. Whether you visit Karma Cream for their ice cream, their pastrami sandwich, or matcha latte, you're in for a sweet treat!

D'Lites Emporium

An absolute personal favorite of mine, D'lites doesn't disappoint. Serving up low-fat, low-calorie ice cream, you'd never know it was just that! The best part about D'Lites is that they serve new flavors everyday. You never know what you're going to get when you take a visit, but their flavors are updated on their website daily.

D'lites started in Plantation in 1982 but has found its forever home in the heart of many Gainesvillians. D'lites in Gainesville has been around since 2004, making it a beloved Gainesville staple, too. They also offer ice cream specials every day.

Zero Degrees

If you're looking for an Instagram-worthy sweet treat, check out Zero Degrees. Unlike your traditional scooped ice cream, Zero Degrees serves their ice cream in rolls. They mix your flavor choice with the toppings you want and. after beating it all together, they serve it rolled straight off their zero-degrees surface. This place is perfect for people who want their ice cream to be exactly how they want it!

SweetBerries Eatery and Frozen Custard

SweetBerries is a Gainesville sweet spot, that's for sure! What makes SweetBerries unique is that they serve up frozen custard- not ice cream exactly, but equally if not more delicious! SweetBerries offers chocolate and vanilla everyday, but two special flavors everyday.

They have a schedule up of what flavors are coming in the restaurant. SweetBerries food shouldn't be overlooked, though! From their tempeh reuben to their tuna melt, they offer a meal deal which comes with a scoop of their custard!

Gainesville has found the best way to beat the hot Florida sun with some of the most delicious and unique ice cream in the area.
