The Downtown Five Star, originally located at 15 SW 2nd street, was the first in a growing franchise. The expansion of the franchise started in 1990 with the opening of a second Gainesville store followed by Ocala in 1993 and Tampa in 1995. Downtown Five Star moved just a block away to its current location and in 1991 started delivering pizzas 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. The service became an overwhelming success with University of Florida students who were just down the road. Five Star Pizzas are made from scratch with the freshest ingredients, including our dough which is made on site. All of our pizzas are hand-crafted and tossed to allow the dough to breath and baked to perfection. Our success comes from the original recipe, brought to Florida from Philadelphia by an Italian immigrant, along with the patronage of fifty thousand college students and our speedy delivery. All Five Star Pizza's are locally owned and operated and each one has its own unique identity.
