Our JAWS, Jurassic Park, and Willy Wonka Shadowcasts have been hailed as masterpieces -- OK maybe not masterpieces, but they were called many other things! -- and now our latest shadowcast installment: The Princess Bride!
What’s A Shadowcast: simply put, a shadowcast mimics the action going on in the film while the movie plays on a large screen behind them. While the concept has been immortalized by The Rocky Horror Picture Show, having been performed by troupes internationally for decades now, following suit with different movies is still a relatively new and experimental idea. Plus, it’s a lot of fun! At Insomniac, we like to think of it as us acting out our favorite movies for our friends. This will be our fourth original shadowcast with the first three being JAWS, Jurassic Park, and Willy Wonka.
Based on the William Goldman novel "The Princess Bride" which earned its own loyal audience. An American romantic comedy fantasy adventure film directed and co-produced by Rob Reiner, starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Wallace Shawn, André the Giant, Billy Crystal and Christopher Guest. - 1987 • 98 minutes • PG (adult situations/language)
