Pride Event
Event Details
Throughout the month of June, the Uhuru Solidarity Movement (USM) is holding "No Pride in Genocide" events across the country, building the movement of white LGBTQIA+ people who stand in solidarity with the black community's struggle for justice and power.
The goals of No Pride in Genocide are to
1) expose the history of opportunism within the white-led LGBT rights movement,
2) spread the theory of African Internationalism, as developed by Chairman Omali Yeshitela, specifically how the root of LGBT oppression is found in a system built on the enslavement of African people and genocide against the indigenous people of occupied Turtle Island
3) build solidarity in the white LGBT community with the African People's Socialist Party, in unity with all oppressed peoples struggling against white power and colonialism
