Event Details
On Saturday, August 25, 2018, we will celebrate the 170th anniversary of the women’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York in 1848 and the 98th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (woman suffrage) 1920.
The luncheon will feature an award presentation and a speaker.

Dr. Gwendolyn Zoharah Simmons
Assistant Professor, Department of Religion, University of Florida
We are pleased to honor Dr. Simmons for her work in the areas of civil rights in the U.S, as well as international human rights and peace.

Dr. Lynn Leverty
Assistant Director, Academic Programs, Bob Graham Center for Public Service, University of Florida.
Dr. Leverty's talk, "Women on the Run: Changing the Face of Elected Office", will address the much discussed phenomenon of record numbers of women running for elected office this fall and its significance on both the national and local level.
