The University of Florida Summer Media Institute (SJI) is a five-night, six-day camp for high school students at the College of Journalism and Communications in Gainesville.

Students with a passion and talent for storytelling take part in an assortment of electives and specializations as they learn from our award-winning UF instructors and industry stalwarts.
Take advantage of hands-on opportunities in state-of-the-art facilities – and begin preparing for a career – at one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive journalism and communications programs.
The price is $695 for those who register before Feb. 28. The price thereafter will be $795 until registration closes May 31. The fee pays for all lodging, meals and programming.
Participants will be notified by email when selection for electives and specializations opens in January.
