Celebrate New Year's Eve in Downtown Gainesville with Fireworks, Live Music and a Countdown to Midnight. Begin the evening at Depot Park – music, a beautiful sunset, FIREWORKS, and more!
Event Details
5 p.m.: Bring blankets and chairs and find a spot in Depot Park to enjoy the last sunset of 2017 while DJ Billy Beats hosts a family friendly dance party on the main stage.
6:30 p.m.: The fun continues in Depot Park with ‘Sparks in the Park,’ a 25-minute musically choreographed fireworks show over the main pond.
7:00 p.m.: Directly following the firework display, guests will be invited to ‘GLOW Downtown,’ where S.E. 3rd Street, connecting Depot Park to Bo Diddley Plaz,a will be lined with glowing luminaries.to The Hippodrome Theatre, the walk is 0.46 miles.
9 p.m.: The ‘Downtown Countdown’ will be held at the Bo Diddley Plaza with two concerts. Headlining is the Savants of Soul (Motown, soul, R&B), with The Duppies (ska, reggae) as the opening band. Revelers are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to the Plaza for seating.
12 a.m.: Official countdown to 2018 at Bo Diddley Plaza!
